Objective: The present study examined 3 and 4-year-old children's relationship between the capabilities of belief reasoning, inhibitory control and understanding of intention. Methods: 44 chlidren accepted three kinds of tests in-cluding classic false-belief, inhibitory control and knee-jerk reflex. Results: ①In competing these three kinds of tasks, there's a significant difference between age of 3 and 4-year-old children. ②Except hand game and unexpected content task, the performance of other tasks showed significant correlations, and the total score of those three tasks, with the exclusion of age, remained significant. ③ With the exclusion of age, the relationships between the tasks of day/night Stroop, false-belief and knee-jerk reflex were still significant. ④Day/night Stroop task and knee-jerk reflex task could be used to predict the children's belief reasoning and inhibitory control respectively. Conclution: Children's inhibitory control impacts their belief reasoning, and intention understanding impacts their inhibitory control.
