CMC中“情绪符号”的认知及共情能力的影响

摘要:

目的:探究不同共情能力个体对CMC中“情绪符号”的认知。方法:实验1采用2×3×2混合设计,探究不同共情能力个体对情绪符号的情绪强度的感知差异;实验2采用2×3×2混合设计,探究不同共情能力个体对情绪符号在不同语境中的认知差异。结果:实验1发现,共情能力与负性表情符号的情绪强度知觉显著正相关;符号类型和效价均会影响情绪强度知觉,不同共情能力个体在上述模式上无差异。实验2发现,若文本与符号情绪强度一致但互相矛盾,文本被知觉为更不清晰、更讽刺和更不真实;不同共情能力个体在上述认知模式上无差异。结论:不同共情能力个体在CMC中对情绪符号的认知不存在显著差异,提示情绪符号不等同于面孔表情。

Objective: The present study aimed to explore how capacity of empathy influenced the perception of emoticon in CMS.Methods: The first experiment used a 2(valence:positive,negative)×3(types of emoticons)×2(empathy:high,low) mixed design to explore whether individuals with high vs.low empathy differed in their ratings on the intensity of emoticon in CMC.The second experiment used a similar 2×3×2 mixed design to investigate whether people with high vs.low empathy differed in understanding on the meaning of message when text and emoticon were presented together in CMC.Results: In experiment 1,there was a significant positive correlation between empathy and emotional intensity of negative smiley.A GLM analysis revealed that the main effect of valence and the interaction of valence and type were both significant,while other interactions with empathy were not significant.Experiment 2 found that if the text and emoticon had the same intensity but inconsistent valence,the emoticon reversed the valence of the text perceived by participants.Besides,none of the interactions between other variables and empathy were significant in GLM analysis.Conclusion: This study show that there is no significant difference in perception of the emoticons between individuals with high vs.low empathy abilities.These results indicates that emoticons may not be seen as the equivalence of facial expression.
